Jake Skaggs

Born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago. Educated at the Illinois Institute of Technology where I earned a B. Arch and focused on sustainable design, modular housing, vertical farming and other methods of addressing ecological complacency through architecture. After graduation I began working through the process of architectural licensure and eventually ended up in NWA through a series of unforeseen events and here that process now continues. Soon after I arrived in NWA, I began to admire the work being done at this company and its dedication to shared principles and I resolved to try to work here. Starting at Stitt in July of 2019, my job consists of executing working drawings, developing and managing our ‘building information modeling’ technology and being a “pencil in the Master’s hand.” My time outside of work is mostly spent enjoying my family, teaching my kids what I think I might know, and fixing the things that they break. We like exploring the Ozarks on hiking trails, mountain bikes, float trips, john boats and camp grounds, all of which are a welcome reprieve from the flat, congested land of my upbringing. I play music as often as I can with whatever instrument I can get my hands on, mostly guitar and mandolin. I love to dance but rarely do. I love to draw and often do. I have a signature shoe.
